Opening trends : Neon
We’ve been working on a couple of projects recently which have involved neon lights so I thought I would share some of the cool stuff we came across during our research. Obviously neon lights have been around for ages but over the last couple of years there has been a real surge in the use of these in advertising . The best of course in my opinion is the excellent Puma Social Athlete campaign which successfully incorporates neon lights throughout all of it’s marketing collateral and gives everything a real urban look as Puma tries to create it’s own market for sports wear which isn’t for athlete’s. Other brilliant examples included the work produced by Rizon Parein a freelance digital artist and director who’s work includes the ‘Drive’ movie poster. Anyone who has seen this film which takes heavy influences from 80′s can’t disagree that the use of neon on the poster fits in beautifully with the style and tone of the film.
